Southern butter rolls

This is a classic “Sunday Dessert.” It’s basically a cross between a cinnamon roll and a bread pudding, but flavored with nutmeg and vanilla.

1. The Dough

  • 2 cups All-Purpose Flour

  • 1 tablespoon Baking Powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt

  • 6 tablespoons Cold Butter (cut into cubes)

  • 3/4 cup Whole Milk

2. The Filling

  • 4 tablespoons Butter (softened)

  • 1/2 cup Sugar

  • 1/2 teaspoon Ground Nutmeg

3. The Sweet Milk (Custard)
