🧾 INGREDIENTS

🍰 Cake Base

½ cup unsalted butter, melted

¾ cup granulated sugar

4 large eggs, separated

1 tsp vanilla extract

Zest of 1 lemon

¾ cup all-purpose flour

2 tbsp lemon juice

1 ¾ cups whole milk, lukewarm

✨ Topping & Garnish

Powdered sugar, for dusting

Lemon slices + mint leaves (optional)

It smells like warm lemon fields and sugared butter — fresh, bright, and nostalgic.

🔢 INSTRUCTIONS

Preheat oven to 325°F (160°C). Line an 8×8-inch pan with parchment.

Beat egg whites until stiff peaks form. Set aside.

In another bowl, whisk yolks with sugar until pale and thick.

Add melted butter, lemon zest, and vanilla. Mix well.

Stir in flour, then lemon juice and warm milk until smooth.

Gently fold in egg whites, leaving small clumps — do not overmix!

Pour batter into pan. It will be very runny — that’s perfect!

Bake for 45–50 minutes until golden on top and barely jiggles.

Cool completely, then refrigerate for at least 3 hours.

Dust with powdered sugar and garnish with lemon and mint before serving 🍋
