How to remove the white layer from glasses and restore their shine?

Bicarbonate: the gentle ally in glassmaking

Another indispensable item in our kitchen cupboard: baking soda. Mix two tablespoons of baking soda, one tablespoon of baking soda and a little warm water directly in the glass.

Let the mixture sit for thirty minutes. After rinsing and washing as usual, you will notice that the glass looks much cleaner and is not scratched.

White vinegar, simple and remarkably effective.

If the deposits are more stubborn, white vinegar can be your best ally. Mix equal parts white vinegar and water in a bowl or sink, then soak the glasses for a few hours. For the most stubborn deposits, you can even soak them overnight. The next day, rinse, wash and dry thoroughly to admire the result: visibly brighter glasses without white streaks.

Toothpaste, the unexpected trick!

Yes, you read that right! Toothpaste can restore shine to even dull glass. Apply a small drop to the glass, apply gently with your fingers or a soft cloth, then rinse thoroughly. Simply wash the garment as usual. This method is especially suitable for glass with light stains.

Prevention is better than cure: good daily habits.

To prevent the problem from recurring, don’t forget to reduce the amount of detergent, take the glasses out of the dishwasher immediately after the program is finished and wipe them with a clean, dry cloth. An operation that changes everything, a bit like wiping down a simple frying pan that is still hot: quickly and effectively.

Sometimes, despite all your efforts, some glasses remain permanently cloudy. But if you want to put them back, it’s worth trying these natural tips.
