Buttermilk Beignets

Ingredients:
2 cups all-purpose flour
2 tsp baking powder
½ tsp baking soda
¼ tsp salt
¼ cup sugar
1 large egg
½ cup buttermilk
¼ cup milk
2 tbsp melted butter
Oil for frying
Powdered sugar (for dusting)
Instructions:

In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and sugar.
In another bowl, whisk egg, buttermilk, milk, and melted butter until smooth.
Combine wet and dry ingredients until a soft dough forms.
On a lightly floured surface, roll out dough to ¼-inch thick and cut into squares.
Heat oil to 350°F (175°C) in a deep skillet.
Fry beignets in batches for 1–2 minutes per side or until golden.
Drain on paper towels and dust generously with powdered sugar.
